S.Thangapazham Agricultural College is Established by the Trust ” Thiru K.Subramania Nadar Vadivoo Ammal Eductaional Trust “ Vasudevanallur in the foothills of Western Ghats. The College is approved by Govt. of Tamilnadu and Permanent Affiliated to Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. This is the only Agriculture College established in Tenkasi District and its neighboring Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar and Kanayakumari Districts. The College has state of the art infrastructure facilities.
Chairman
Thiru S. Thangapazham, the founder of the Trust, is a distinguished entrepreneur who has successfully established ventures such as ST Chamber and S. Thangapazham Supermarket. He also serves as the Chairman of the S. T. Group of Institutions, which encompasses several reputed educational establishments recognized for their quality of education in this region. These include:

His leadership and active involvement have been pivotal in the growth and expansion of these institutions. A native of this soil, Thiru S. Thangapazham is deeply committed to advancing the southern districts of Tamil Nadu, particularly by promoting the S. Thangapazham Agricultural College (STAC).
In addition to his entrepreneurial and educational contributions, he has served as the Secretary of the Nadar Committee School for over a decade, during which he played a key role in upgrading it to an aided institution. Fundamentally a farmer for more than forty years, he has introduced innovative techniques in the cultivation of lemon, mango, and paddy, thereby contributing to agricultural progress in the region.
Secretary
Thiru S. T. Murugesan, the architect of the Trust, is a leader of foresight and integrity whose vision is to provide quality education and uplift rural students. With a mission to instil confidence and empower them to achieve success, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s noble objectives. Under his guidance as Secretary, alongside Thiru S. Thangapazham as Chairman, the Trust has grown with a steadfast commitment to excellence as a lifelong pursuit.
With responsibility and prudence, Thiru S. T. Murugesan established and developed S. Thangapazham Agricultural College (STAC) in Vasudevanallur within a short span, making it the first agricultural college in Tenkasi District. His dedication has ensured modern infrastructure, academic quality, and accessibility for rural communities, thereby fulfilling his vision of education as a means of social upliftment and regional development.
Principal
Dr.S.Jeyarajan Nelson is an Entomologist with 36 years of experience in Education, Research and Extension activities in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. He completed his Agricultural Education in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. He worked at Agricultural Research Station, Paramakudi; Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai; Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam; Cotton Research Station, Srivilliputhur; Department of Agricultural Entomology, TNAU, Coimbatore and Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam. He had an opportunity to serve as Professor and Head of Cotton Research Station, Srivilliputhur and Department of Agricultural Entomology, TNAU, Coimbatore He served in All India Coordinated Research Project on tropical fruits, cotton and biological control for 11 years during his service. He has guided 11Ph.D. scholars and 7 PG students. He has published four books and 82 research articles. He has been instrumental in releasing seven technologies at the State level and two technologies at the National level among which two technologies have been commercialized. He has got one patent to his credit.

History of STAC
Thangapazham Agriculture College (STAC) was established in 2015 by “Thiru K. Subramania Nadar- Vadivoo Ammal Educational Trust”, Vasudevanallur at the foothills of Southern Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu. This Agricultural College was established to cater the needs of southern districts of Tamil Nadu. STAC aims to bring quality education and will cater the needs of the farming community of this region. The College was started in accordance with the G.O. (MS) No.199/2015, dt. 28.09.2015 of Government of Tamil Nadu and was granted affiliation by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore vide TNAU Registrar’s Order No. El / Th.K.SN/ 21201/2015 dt. 29.09.2015. Following the successful conduct of ICAR Peer-Review Team visit on 05 March, 2024, the college expects ICAR-accreditation in this academic year.
